Soybeans
Specifications for "ideal" soybeans differ from end-user to end-user. Only you can define the specifications needed to produce your product in your facility. Through our close working relationships with producers, we are able to select truckloads and accumulate soybeans that will best meet your needs. Every year, CGB performs extensive laboratory testing on harvest samples to evaluate varieties and the effect of growing conditions in an effort to select Premium Grains SM that meet the demand specifications of our soybean customers.
Genetics
Some soybean varieties are genetically disposed to being better suited for your purposes. Seed size, color, protein, oil, fiber, sugar, amino acids, fatty acids, and isoflavone levels are important characteristics that are influenced by genetics. Encouraging the producer to choose the varieties best suited for your process is only the beginning.
Growing Conditions
Growing conditions vary by location each year. CGB originates soybeans through more than 60 elevators primarily located on the Mississippi, Ohio, and Illinois Rivers. From year to year, soybeans best suited for your process can come from almost anywhere. Through our extensive sampling and testing protocol, we compile data on each year's crop. We evaluate varieties for the genetics mentioned above. From that information, we are able to assess what areas produced the highest quality soybeans and select ones that suit the individual specifications of our Premium Grains SM customers.
Non GMO Soybeans
When transgenic or genetically modified organisms (GMO's) are a concern for your customers, look to CGB’s identity preserved (IP) programs. By utilizing our strong relationships with grain producers and a system of producer certification, audits, and testing, CGB is able to deliver soybeans worldwide that are substantially free of genetically modified types.
Achieving zero genetic contamination is probably not possible. However, tests have shown that we can reduce the potential for GMO contamination to very low levels and still make large-scale shipments. While CGB believes that there are many potential benefits to the traits offered by genetically modified grains and soybeans, we respect our customers' right to choose for themselves and are willing to provide low GMO shipments to those who wish to take a cautious attitude toward this new technology.
Commitment
CGB is working closely with producers, seed companies, and academics to improve the processes of our customers. Since every soybean user has different objectives, processes, and equipment, communication between the raw material supplier and the processor is essential. We look forward to customizing a Premium Grains SM program to fit your needs.

Farming is a complex and globally competitive business. Advances in production, seed, and biotechnology are accelerating the pace of change and forcing us all to change the ways we think about farming. We believe it is important that our Premium Grains SM programs encourage the American farmer to strive for continuous improvement.
Producers participating in our Premium Grains SM programs understand that they collect more than a premium for growing better, high quality grains. Our producers take great pride in growing a quality product and benefit from knowing that their efforts are valued by an end-user.
