As an exporter of U.S. grains, CGB’s mission is to supply and develop markets for our U.S. producer customers. World demand for high quality, sustainable grains continues to grow; however, so does the competition for these markets. Not only are importers looking for improved quality, but they are also concerned with new genetic traits that are being introduced into their food chain.
Protecting and growing U.S. agriculture’s world market share requires sensitivity to consumers’ wants and needs. While we respect and encourage a producer’s ability to choose seed traits that increase the quality and income produced per acre, we want all to understand that limiting any markets to U.S. crops is not always in the U.S. farmer’s best interest. Droughtguard® is accepted in most countries, but not all. We ask farmers to realize that when they grow crops unapproved in all countries it can and will limit CGB’s marketing ability.
CGB will be accepting Droughtguard® at all of our facilities but do ask that producers notify us prior to delivery if they will be delivering Droughtguard® linked varieties. This will allow us to manage and segregate Droughtguard® corn if necessary.
CGB will continue to be an advocate for U.S. farming, and your assistance will help us channel and meet the U.S. farmer and CGB’s customer needs.
