Mandeville, LA - Consolidated Grain and Barge Co. (“CGB”), a wholly owned subsidiary of CGB Enterprises, Inc., is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement to lease its Wever, Iowa facility to Heartland Co-op.
“This arrangement allows both companies to work toward providing long-term value to the producers in southeast Iowa. Heartland is a highly respected organization with whom we look forward to working with,” said Steve Burbrink, Director of Business Development at CGB.
The agreement was finalized on July 8, and Heartland Co-op will begin operating the facility on August 1. CGB values its relationships with producers in Wever and surrounding communities; the company fully expects the transition to Heartland will be a seamless and positive one.
“With our recent construction of a state of the art shuttle loading terminal in Fairfield, IA, this agreement is a great complement to our initiatives in the region. We very much look forward to growing our relationship with area producers and adding value to our over 5,700 active Heartland Co-op members across the state,” said Tom Hauschel, Heartland Co-op’s CEO and General Manager.
